Dendrochronology and Wood Anatomy Lab - Department of Agricultural, Forest and Food Sciences (DISAFA) - University of Torino
The Dendrochronology and Wood Anatomy Lab studies wood as a biological material, an environmental archive, and a cultural resource. Our research integrates dendrochronology, wood anatomy, and ecology to investigate tree growth, xylem structure, and plant–environment interactions across spatial and temporal scales.
We combine microscopic and quantitative approaches to analyse both modern and historical wood. Activities range from xylogenesis and climate reconstruction to the study of wooden artefacts, including the development of minimally invasive methods such as the WoodScope and DendroScope frameworks.
